Royal Cumberland Ladies Day visit to
Tyntesfield House
Saturday 5th June 2010
Tyntesfield was acquired by the
National Trust from the estate of the second Lord Wraxall who died in
2001 with no heir. This astonishing house was created and adorned with
Gothic splendour by the Gibbs family who made their fortune in the mid
19th Century trading in guano for fertilizer. It is a most fascinating
place to visit and we've arranged for a guided group tour.
A pre-arranged coach will pick up
from the Avon Street coach park in central Bath at 12.00pm on the day.
The tour of the house and a look around the grounds should take
approximately 3 hrs so the coach should be back in Bath by 6.00pm with
allowance for having some tea.
Please note that the NT group visiting rules insist that the whole group
arrives on the same coach and NOT turning up in individual vehicles. For
the benefit of those who don't live in or near Bath, there will be a
secondary coach pick-up point nearer Tyntesfield with adequate parking
so you can opt to join the coach there if you prefer. The cost will be
the same because the available seat will have originated and be
returning to Bath in any case.
The cost is £20 per person which
includes entry to Tyntesfield and the return coach. However, National
Trust members only pay £10 as they are entitled to free entry to the
House. All comers are most welcome. Please use the payment button below
to buy your tickets online. The usual credit and debit cards are
acceptable.
